This was made for www.viernesdeilustracion.com The theme was Ancestral, and I had a real urge to tell something like my very own 'Creation Myth'. Thanks for taking the time to read it! Hope you like it.
This is still one of my favorite philosophical view points and I come back to it from time and time again. I've shared it with a number of other people and they've come to like it too. I am curious though, do you by any chance have a method of converting this into a side scroll version? Granted I like the vertical view point and it would be neat to place something like this say on a spiral stair case, presuming it's spiraling downwards in a clockwise direction. Anyways, my point is, I thought it would be neat to see a version that is a little more easily accessible to place on a wall as a person is walking by. I always thought it would be really cool to have it near a home entry and it would peak people's curiosity and give them some necessary food for thought : ). If perhaps you do a different painting variation with basically the same history idea please let me know. I look forward to it in the event that you do make one and I just may be able to afford a print if I can convince my wife of it anways. Muchisimo gracias senor si lo puedes hacer .
holy bejeezus christ. this was actually... something iwouldn't usually take the time to read. but since it was so captivating.. and wonderfully written, I just had to continue. and I fell in love with it. the way you make it seem so casual between the two characters, and then brought in the explanation was seamless. I loved it. it was such a fascinating, loveable story of Nothing trying to have Something find the meaning to it all. Fantastic
Sometimes you find something beautiful to say and are not sure how to portray it. Or you find something beautiful to show but no idea why. This right here has taken something beautiful to say and beautiful to show and fused them together to be everything. And you're quite right. Nothing is better - than this.
You don't see such philosophical thought on dA very often. When I say philosophical, I really mean quality philosophical thought, not "ohhh that's kind of deep". A beautiful use of language, the double meaning adds a layer of complicity and intricacy to it all. This piece has a Continental vibe to it; reading it gives me that feeling I get when I read Nietzsche. The solid, bold colours are imaginative. It's vague enough to let the reader expand the scene with their own images in accordance with the words, but it's decisive enough to tell the readers exactly what to imagine. A powerful piece of artwork, I must say.
Very touching, I almost cried, because I realized that I was just one of the Many, but a Many that is Alone because doesn't really care about the others, just wants to do nothing and be left alone. The message of this is one of the best things I ever saw on DeviantArt.
WOW! ...wow... OMG! WOW! Beautiful artwork and Beautiful storytelling. Very thought provoking... "...Nothing is more important. Nothing really, really matters." And the final art panel completely grabbed at my heart.
Thanks so much for being one of the Few, and giving my soul a glimpse of Nothing
I really like this. Fi89rstly, the writing has a simplicity and rythm to it that fits well with your intention to write a 'creation myth', the framing narrative of which is- again- simple, but very effective. Secondly, the art is just beautiful. It has a story-book quality to it, which is really effective for your myth, and the use of colours is amazing. The lack of panelling for the myth art works really well in the context of a scoll-down page, as well.
